Statement of Research Interest
The research focus for our laboratory is the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of host innate immune responses to bacteria and bacterial cell wall component peptidoglycan. We have identified a novel family of innate immunity molecules called peptidoglycan recognition proteins and we continue to investigate the mechanism of action of these proteins and their role in defense against bacterial infections.
