Statement of Research Interest
Our lab works at the interface of human genetics and drug discovery. We systematically identify connections between genes and the human biology they regulate through the integration of multi-omics human datasets. The overarching goals of these analyses are to determine the function of understudied genes and to identify novel druggable targets for cardiometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases. We then use the tools of chemical biology in combination with zebrafish genetic models to dissect the molecular mechanisms of these associations, and to identify lead compounds to modulate disease targets. Our overarching goal is to develop new medicines to treat cardiometabolic and neurodegenerative diseases.
