Name: inner ear
Synonyms: ear, otic capsule, otocyst
Definition: The auditory (hearing) and vestibular (balance) organ of the fish, equivalent to the inner ear of amniotes. (See Anatomical Atlas entry for ear by T. Whitfield.)

These protrusions are supported by a bundle of cross-linked actin filaments (an actin cable), oriented such that the plus (barbed) ends are at the tip of the protrusion, capped by a tip complex which bridges to the plasma. Bundles of stereocilia act as mechanosensory organelles.
Ontology: GO: Cellular Component [GO:0032420]    QuickGO    AmiGO
Name: decreased width
Synonyms: narrow
Definition: A width which is relatively small.
Ontology: Phenotypic Quality Ontology [PATO:0000599]
