Definition: Vein that branches off the nasal ciliary artery. Initially, at 2dpf, the dorsal ciliary vein (DCV) drains into the primordial midbrain channel (PMBC) or the PMBC/PHBC junction. Later, by 3.5dpf, the DCV drains into the optic choroid vascular plexus. The dorsal branch of the inner optic circle drains into the DCV.
