Phenotype: epidermis hemidesmosome decreased amount, abnormal
Note: This statement combines anatomy and/or ontology terms with phenotype quality terms to create a complete phenotype (EQ) statement. For detailed information on individual terms, click the hyperlinked term name.
Name: epidermis
Synonyms:
Definition: A cellular, multilayered epithelium derived from the ectoderm. Zebrafish epidermis consists only of living cells unlike terrestrial vertebrates in which dead, keratinized cells are present.
Ontology: Anatomy Ontology [ZFA:0000105]
Name: hemidesmosome
Synonyms: epidermal attachment structure, fibrous organelle, hemi-adherens junction, trans-epithelial attachment
Definition: A cell-substrate junction (attachment structure) found in epithelial cells that links intermediate filaments to extracellular matrices via transmembrane complexes. In vertebrates, hemidesmosomes mediate contact between the basal side of epithelial cells and the basal lamina. In C. elegans, hemidesmosomes connect epithelial cells to distinct extracellular matrices on both the apical and basal cell surfaces.
Ontology: GO: Cellular Component [GO:0030056]    QuickGO    AmiGO
Name: decreased amount
Synonyms: decreased, decreased number, present in fewer numbers in organism, reduced, subnumerary
Definition: An amount which is relatively low.
Ontology: Phenotypic Quality Ontology [PATO:0001997]
