Definition

A synaptic neuropil domain of the larval brain located posterior to the medial lobe of the mushroom body. It is separated from the centro-lateral compartment by the peduncle, and from the centro-posterior intermediate compartment by the antenno-cerebral tract to which it is connected via a branch.
