Definition
The selective autophagy process in which a mitochondrion is degraded by macroautophagy in a process initiated by mitochondrial depolarization (mtDepo) followed by Parkin binding, and ubiquitination of outer membrane proteins, to remove potentially harm-inducing dysfunctional/damaged mitochondria.
