Definition
Catalysis of the reaction: a long-chain fatty acid + ATP + L-cysteinyl-[protein] = AMP + diphosphate + S-(long-chain fatty acyl)-L-cysteinyl-[protein]. A long-chain fatty acid has an aliphatic tail containing 13 to 22 carbons. 6.2.1.19
