Definition
A cholesteryl glycoside in which cholesterol is linked glycosidically via its 3-hydroxy group to 6-O-myristoyl-alpha-D-glucose. Produced naturally by Helicobacter pylori, a bacteria that colonizes the stomach and which is associated with protection against asthma, it is also chemically synthesized as PI57.
