Biography and Research Interest
We are using the zebrafish as an experimental model system to elucidate the developmental roles of tumor suppressors and oncogenes and to dissect molecular mechanisms that when subverted contribute to cancer. We perform gain and loss of function experiments in embryos and characterize the phenotype of zebrafish mutants in these genes.
We are particularly interested in
• Analysis of cell polarity and energy metabolism during normal development and cancer
• Analysis of the developmental roles of the Polycomb group proteins
• Study of deubiquitination enzymes acting on the Wnt signaling pathway in zebrafish
