Biography and Research Interest
EDUCATION: Bachelor, Tufts University
Ph.D., McGill University (Supervisor: Ronald Chase)
Postdoc at University of California at Santa Cruz (Supervisor: Jack Davis)

I joined the faculty of Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia first in Department of Psychology and then Department of Physiology & Biophysics. I have stayed at Dalhousie ever since, except for visiting appointments at the Free University of Amsterdam, University of Hawaii and University of Queensland.

I am a comparative neurobiologist interested primarily in integrative physiology and development. Most of my career I have worked on molluscs, on topics ranging from reproductive physiology and feeding behaviour to sensory, motor and developmental neurobiology. Comparative studies have always been of interest to me and I have therefore publishing on many different species of gastropods and bivalves.

Recently, however, I have also been devoting a large portion of my time to projects on autonomic control of buoyancy and olfactory learning in zebrafish.
