Biography and Research Interest
I. Establishment of good microarrays for zebrafish. We have been using the arrays from Compugne with 16,000+ genes. Recently, I have added oligos for 6000 new genes and currently we have 22,000+ oligos in zebrafish microarrays. Further, we are planning to establish zebrafish microarrays using Illumina platform.
II. Analysis of transcriptome dynamics using zebrafish microarrays. Particularly focusing on the identification and functional analysis of developmentally regulated early genes.
III. Generation of transcriptome resource by generating full length enriched cDNA libraries from different tissues and selection of non redundant clones using high density colony array hybridization techniques. All the clone and sequence details will be submitted to NCBI and clones will be available with IMAGE.
VI. Identification and functional validation of novel transcripts in zebrafish using microarrays: a. New target genes involved in sonic hedgehog pathway and b. Estrogen responsive direct and indirect target genes.
