Biography and Research Interest
Henrik Zetterberg is a Professor of Neurochemistry and has a research background in molecular biology and clinical chemistry. He has spent the past 10 years focusing on the development of biomarkers for Alzheimer disease and other brain disorders, including traumatic brain injury. His research is translational and involves evaluation of biomarkers in cell and animal models, including zebrafish, as well as in longitudinal studies of patients and healthy individuals. H. Zetterberg is a specialist in clinical chemistry and Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry at the Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. He is also a Guest Professor at the Institute of Neurology, University College London, UK. He has published more than 300 scientific articles and has received the Erik K. Fernström prize for young scientists and the Inga Sandeborg prize for research on Alzheimer disease.
