Biography and Research Interest
For over two decades, I have successfully used the zebrafish model system to provide fundamental insights into the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms that ensure the proper formation and function of the circulatory system. Specifically, my work has made seminal contributions in the following areas. (1) Genetic control of the reproducibility of the vascular pattern. (2) Influence of blood flow on vascular remodeling and caliber sizing. (3) Cerebrovascular development and barriergenic differentiation. (4) Characterization of novel mechanisms of vessel formation.
