Statement of Research Interest
Dr. Yuh, an accomplished researcher, earned her Ph.D. from the Institute of Microbiology and Immunology at National Yang-Ming Medical College, making significant contributions to understanding the hepatitis B virus's enhancer II. Her work at the California Institute of Technology focused on the Endomesoderm Gene Regulatory Network in sea urchin. Since joining IMGM of NHRI in 2004, she has utilized zebrafish to investigate embryonic gene regulatory networks, with a keen interest in cancer development. Currently, her research emphasizes dysregulated metabolism in hepatocarcinogenesis, exploring therapeutic avenues for NAFLD and HCC through the STAT3/AMPK/PFKL axis. Her team is also developing a drug screening platform using Artificial Intelligent-Phenotypic Response Surface (AI-PRS) in zebrafish models, aligning with her broader focus on liver diseases, including NAFLD, liver cancer, gastric cancer, and congenital myopathy. This approach aims to optimize treatment strategies by considering individual biological differences and repurposing existing drugs, contributing to enhanced understanding and improved interventions for various liver-related conditions.
