Evidence from two papers, Pinheiro et al. (2012) and Bhattacharya et al. (2011) shows that after the 2 rounds of vertebrate genome duplication, three PTH receptors existed, pth1r, pth2r, and pth3r. zfish lineage kept 1r, 2r, and 3r. Human lineage lost 3r, kept 1r and 2r.
