Definition: | A methanesulfonate (mesylate) salt prepared from equimolar amounts of camostat and methanesulfonic acid. It is a serine protease inhibitor approved and marketed in Japan in 1985 for the alleviation of acute symptoms associated with chronic pancreatitis.
