Definition: A phosphate-linked oligosaccharide analogue consisting of two 3(4)-O-acetyl-alpha-N-acetyl-D-mannosaminyl residues, joined by a (1->6)-phosphodiester linkage. It is a constituent 2-repeating-unit fragment of Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A capsular polysaccharide (MenA), the structural diagram of which shows hydroxy groups partly acetylated at either positions 3 or 4, along with parts of phosphodiester linkages which are present at both the reducing and non-reducing ends of the disaccharide unit.
